A Spyware Removal Tool - it is free for personal use !

What is Spyware ?

Spyware, in the broadest sense, can be defined as software which collects information about a computer user's activities without his or her knowledge. It is often installed in a computer without the user's knowledge.

Spyware programs can collect various kinds of personal information regarding the users of the computer and may also interfere with user's control of the computer in several ways.

A more detailed description of Spyware can be found in Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. Click here to access the Wikipedia article on Spyware. [More information about Wikipedia can be found here.]

The emergence of Anti-virus software was in response to the presence computer viruses. Similarly, the presence of Spyware has led to the creation of Anti-Spyware or Spyware Removal Tools and Utilities. As in the case of Anti-virus software, there are free and commercial versions for these tools and utilities.

I want to share with you folks a free-for-personal-use Spyware Removal Tool. It is called Spybot - Search & Destroy. It works pretty well and includes a resident program (a program which runs in the background as long as your computer is running) to continuously monitor Spyware threats.

Also remarkable, is their license agreement for personal use which you can find here.
